Pink Floyd Kids



"Former schoolchildren who sang on Pink Floyd's 1979 single Another Brick in The Wall have begun action for unpaid royalties." acording to the BBC.



Are those signs of a greedy and litigious society the great "americanism" that we really do not want... yes that was my innitial reaction. An over-reaction or a lack of deep thought, you may ask.

I find this a bit troublesome issue because when you use some rational, then you will find arguments to support either side.

I am becoming to be inclined to the view that these kids should be appropriatelly awarded. However, I do not think that it needs to go as far as the court room.

In little more than a month, Firefox has been downloaded more than 10 million times. Seriously, the members of the SFX community deserve a huge thank you for their efforts to spread Firefox. Even if it meant simply adding a banner to a website, creating custom banners, suggesting to your site's IE visitors that there's a better experience awaiting them or getting your coworkers, family members, friends, classmates or non-techies to switch. We wouldn't be this successful this quickly if it weren't for all of your combined efforts making a difference and telling the world about Firefox!

Computer at a standstill?

I have been annoyed by the speed of my laptop for some time now. Not that I'd have the fastest machine on the planet but I also couldn't come to terms that my recent memory upgrade had no effect. One would expect that 512MB will shift things around in a bit faster fashion. A revelation came to me this Friday when I picked up a copy of PC PRO mag. How many network drives have you mapped on your PC? Heureka, we are home... Your pc will automatically look for mapped drives every time you wish to open or save a document from within the dialog window. Considering that I mapped Memory Stick drive on a remote PC, a couple of FTP servers and others the operation was taking some considerable time. Although, that's not to say that I changed my mind... it is time for a new machine... January here we come.
